She isn’t afraid to make fun of herself and draws you in as she talks about her curiosities in life, past failures and experiences in a hilarious way that will keep you laughing non stop.

What’s great about Margaret Chow is that she puts a magnifying glass on politics, popular culture, the media and isn’t afraid to speak her mind about what she sees. This show was taped just weeks before the 2008 election and she talks openly about Obama, McCain, Palin and other issues of the time like Proposition 8.

One of her best shows in years

Beautiful was by far one of her best tours ever and this DVD captures the ‘comedy magic’ as Margaret Cho keeps the jokes quickly moving from one to the next and the audience cracking up in their seats. One of the things that I love about this comedian is that she’s shameless and isn’t afraid to be honest and you just can’t stop laughing at her routine. She’s also not afraid to talk about recent political scandal and this was refreshing to me considering that many comedians and celebrities wont touch political issues.

Everyone is influenced by the media and it’s perception of what is beautiful and what’s not. In Beautiful, Margaret Chow tears down all of the beauty standards that the media and pop culture has set and shows people that when you first have to ignore the media and focus on first feeling beautiful on the inside before anything else because once you feel beautiful you will have the willingness to speak your voice and live life to it’s fullest.
